My experience with ICL surgery at Boston Vision was truly amazing. From my very first appointment through my recovery, I felt supported, cared for, and confident that I was in the right hands. Dr. Brenner was outstanding. He took the time to explain everything clearly, answered all my questions, and made me feel comfortable throughout the entire process. His professionalism and experience gave me complete confidence going into the surgery. Mrs. Patel was also incredible. She was always kind, patient, and attentive. She made sure I felt comfortable and supported every step of the way, and her care made a big difference in my experience. The surgery itself was quick, my recovery went smoothly, and the results have been better than I could have imagined. Being able to see clearly without depending on glasses or contacts has truly changed my daily life. I highly recommend Boston Vision and the entire team. Everyone I met was professional, welcoming, and genuinely cared about my experience. A special thank you to Dr. Brenner and Mrs. Patel for the amazing care and for helping me achieve a new vision and a new quality of life.

Hey all, Just an update on my monovision surgery experience I had in January 2026. It seems like the monovision did not take and I am scheduled to speak with doc again to have the straight lasik correction for distance in both eyes. Anyone in need or wish to discuss my experiences with the monovision and the shortcoming in my instance I experienced please reach out. I will end by saying I did not regret trying monovision. Also, the staff and doctors at Boston Vision are top notch and have been monitoring my successes and shortcoming the whole way looking to make my vision perfect. I could not be happier with the experience so far.

Today marks 3 weeks since my ICL surgery and I'm happy to share that my vision has gotten better since the initial first few days. I am way less sensitive to light and see less halos and rings. Day of the surgery - Very tired and slept to entire day. No pain just sensitivity to light. Day after surgery - 20/20 vision. I could go outside and take myself to the follow up appt but just needed sunglasses. Strong rings and halos around lights especially at night or in dark rooms like parking garages. Some challenge to shower without touching my eyes so I wore swimming goggles in the shower Two Days after surgery - Went to the park to paint and noticed some pain when changing vision from super close canvas to a far away landscape I was painting. Also noticed pain if I accidentally touched my eyes int he shower. Otherwise, totally fine to be outside with sunglasses and do normal things like going out to eat with a friend or shopping Three Weeks after surgery - My eyesight only got better as I recovered from the procedure. I see less halos around lights and do not require sunglasses. I'm doing all the normal day to day things and don't need to put on glasses or contacts which is amazing. Thank you Boston Vision!

I just had my EVO ICL procedure done in June by Dr. Melki. They took me in quickly once I arrived for my appointment, answered any questions I had before starting (I got a chance to ask both the nurse and Dr. Melki questions), and got me ready for the procedure. The operation itself was fairly quick and I only experienced minor discomfort during it. They walked me out between each eye to see if the lenses were in correctly as well. Afterwards my eyes were a little dry, but as long as I kept up with the eye drop regimen it felt close to normal within a day or so. My vision mostly stabilized on the same day as the surgery and has slightly improved in the following days. My right eye ended up with 20/15 vision and my left was slightly less than 20/20, so they may have to go back and correct the left afterwards. Overall it was an amazing experience!

I had ICL surgery 3 days ago with Dr Brenner. The surgery and recovery after it was painless. My right eye was 20/20 one day after surgery but my left eye was 20/40 and still blurry. My eyes are getting used to the light and doing way better compared to day 1. I will update again as my vision improves

I had ICL surgery eight days ago. My vision had been -5.25 and I'd worn glasses or contacts for the last 36 years. I specifically chose Dr. Brenner after doing a lot of research and reading nearly 300 reviews on Google, Yelp, or elsewhere. The day of the surgery, I was taken promptly from the waiting room, but the technician seemed rushed. She was definitely juggling 3+ patients at the time. The surgery itself only took 25 minutes total, but was very uncomfortable (although not painful). My eyes were held open, which would've been manageable but then they shined a light in my eye that was three times brighter than the sun and asked me to look at it. It's momentary torture to say the least. I wanted to keep my eyes shut for most of the rest of the day. They watered uncontrollably for a few hours after. That night and certainly by the next day, my vision was very clear. Clearer than I expected. Details across the room were crisp. I had light sensitivity (and still do) and a mild headache for the first couple days. At my one-week follow-up appointment today, my left eye is 20/20, while my right eye seems to have backtracked to 20/50. Dr. Brenner says vision fluctuation is a normal part of the healing process, so hopefully it’ll return to perfect over the coming days/weeks. UPDATE 6/15/2026: About eight days after my surgery it was obvious something was wrong. Everything was blurry. Turns out both ICLs rotated out of position. On 6/10/2026 (three weeks from my original surgery) Dr. Brenner exchanged my ICLs for larger ICLs and oriented them vertically. So far, five days out, my vision is perfect in one eye and near-perfect in the other. Given the two surgeries, my eyes need time to heal, but the doctor expects my vision to improve even further. At the second surgery, every single person with whom I interacted at Boston Vision was extremely accommodating and kind. They took good care of me.

I recently had ICL surgery on 6/3 with Dr. Melki. Before the procedure, I was a little nervous after reading the consent information and seeing some Reddit reviews of ICL surgeries performed elsewhere. However, after reading recent patient reviews through Boston Vision's HowDidItGo platform, I felt much more at ease. Many people described having minimal issues, even immediately after surgery, and said they wished they had done ICL years earlier. Now, just over a week post-op, I can honestly say I feel the same way. It has been life-changing to be able to see clearly without contacts or glasses. The procedure itself went very smoothly. One eye took a little longer than the other, and the recovery in that eye was slower, but both eyes were doing quite well by the second day after surgery. One piece of advice I would give is to consider taking the Xanax that's offered before the procedure. I wasn't nervous going in, but it is a little unnerving to be awake while someone is operating on your eyes. Looking back, I probably would have been a better patient for Dr. Melki if I had taken it—I likely would have moved my head less and followed instructions more easily during the procedure. Immediately after surgery, I felt pretty good overall, but my eye pressure was elevated. Dr. Sabbah came in and released some of the pressure, which helped immensely. My follow-up appointment with Dr. Sabbah the next day was excellent as well. He noticed that my right eye was recovering more slowly than my left and recommended increasing my eye drops from three times per day to five times per day in that eye. The improvement was almost immediate. My vision has been great. I opted for monovision and was initially concerned it might be difficult to adapt to, but the difference is so subtle that I don't even notice one eye is corrected differently from the other. The only side effect I've experienced is halos when looking directly at very bright lights or the sun. This was one of my biggest concerns before surgery because I didn't want to solve one vision problem only to create another. I had read reviews from people who said the halos didn't bother them, and I remember thinking, "How could they not?" Now that I've experienced them myself, I completely understand. They aren't particularly distracting, and sometimes they're actually pretty fascinating. The other day I noticed a rainbow halo and thought, "Wow, that's amazing." From what I've been told, halos typically improve over time, and I'm only a week into recovery. If you're considering ICL surgery and feeling nervous like I was, know that those feelings are completely normal. Based on my experience so far, I couldn't be happier with the outcome, and I only wish I had done it sooner.

Hesitating to take a star off, because my vision is great now and I recovered very well. However, the bedside manner of the staff as well as my experience as a patient that day was very poor. Day of surgery: I show up for my visit early, and I am not called in until over an hour past my appointment time. At no point did anyone tell me the OR was running behind. At one point I saw my doctor (Dr. Melki) outside assisting someone with getting a package-- so I don't know what was going on. When I started getting prepped for pre op, staff were literally running in and out of the room. I felt very rushed and not really cared for. Dr. Melki came into the room for about 30 seconds, was literally on the edge of his seat to rush out of the room, and didn't ask me if I had any questions or concerns. I mentioned 3 times how nervous I was, and a tech finally offered me Xanax after I bring up that I have GAD. In the operating room: Staff was friendly, blasting music, were very nice. The procedure for my right eye was really not that bad-- took about 10 minutes or less, no pain, mostly discomfort from staring into the light and feeling the tugging sensations. They then led me out of the room, checked my right eye, and then we went back in the room. Left eye-- different story. Within 10 seconds of starting, I literally heard the doctor say "oh f***" under his breath (which is HORRIFYING bedside manner??). The left eye takes MUCH longer, and is highly uncomfortable/painful throughout. I think my blood pressure or heart rate drops at some point because I hear beeping, staff starts patting my leg, and I hear someone say "she's very low." After the lens is placed, my vision in my left eye just disappears. Completely black. I try not to freak out, but when it doesn't return, I mention it to the staff. They are very concerned and immediately do something with a needle to my eye. Eventually my vision slowly returns. My left eye is very painful. Post OR: I'm extremely disoriented, either from the Xanax or the left eye procedure or both. I'm led to another room and left alone for a while. I can already see much clearer, but my eyes are very sensitive to light (especially my left eye). I'm very nervous about the comment my surgeon made, how my procedure went, the fact that it seemed like something went wrong, but no staff member stayed with me to talk me through it and reassure me. The doctor (a different one, who wasn't even there during my operation) came in the room for maybe 2 minutes, quickly checked my eyes, and then sent in a tech. I try to ask questions but as no one who followed up with me was in the room, I couldn't get answers. I went home confused and nervous, and fell asleep for the rest of the day and night. Follow up day: I wake up and can see perfectly. My eyes are somewhat uncomfortable (especially the left one) and sensitive to light, but not too bad. I go to my follow up appointment, and now being in a more sound state of mind, try to ask the doctor what happened. This is now the 3rd different doctor I've seen, and he also was not in the OR so couldn't tell me anything. He shared that sometimes eye pressures can increase to the point of losing vision, and that I should be fine. I'm now almost 2 weeks out. My vision is amazing, and I'm very happy with the results. I see a lot of halos at night, but slowly getting used to them. I don't quite trust myself to drive at night yet, but have no other issues. The results themselves are 5 stars-- but the procedure and the experience I had with staff was not. I didn't feel cared for as a patient at all, and felt more like I was treated as a product.

My experience with Boston Vision and my ICL surgery has been truly life-changing. Before surgery, my vision was worse than 20/400, and I had depended on glasses and contact lenses for most of my life. Because of my severe prescription and eye characteristics, I was not a good candidate for LASIK, which made finding the right vision correction solution more difficult. My journey to Boston Vision was not a simple one. The first doctor I consulted did not perform ICL surgery, and the second doctor did not feel comfortable operating on my eyes because of the complexity of my prescription. After being referred by another eye doctor, I scheduled a consultation at Boston Vision. As the third vision correction practice I visited, I arrived with a lot of questions and concerns, but from the very beginning, I felt I was in the right place. The consultation process was extremely thorough. The team performed detailed testing and took the time to carefully explain my options. What stood out most was their confidence, expertise, and willingness to ensure I fully understood the procedure. Rather than feeling like just another patient, I felt that my case was being evaluated individually and that the doctors genuinely cared about achieving the best possible outcome. On the day of surgery, the staff was welcoming, professional, and reassuring. The procedure itself was much quicker and smoother than I expected. Every member of the team helped make the experience comfortable and stress-free. The results have exceeded my expectations. As of today, only six days after surgery, I am seeing at 20/15, which is something I never imagined possible given how poor my vision was before surgery. The impact on my daily life has been tremendous. Being able to wake up and see clearly without reaching for glasses or dealing with contact lenses has been incredibly freeing. My recovery has gone very smoothly overall. During the first few days, I experienced some pressure in my eyes, which was expected and gradually improved. By day four or five, that pressure sensation had completely gone away. At this point, the only minor side effects I notice are some dry eyes when I wake up and occasional glare from street lights while driving at night or from the sun at certain angles. These have been very manageable and are insignificant compared to the benefits I have gained from the procedure. Choosing ICL surgery was one of the best decisions I have ever made, and choosing Boston Vision made all the difference. Going from worse than 20/400 vision to 20/15 vision in less than a week has been remarkable, and I am extremely grateful to the entire team for their expertise and care. I highly recommend Boston Vision to anyone considering vision correction surgery, especially those with complex prescriptions who may not be candidates for LASIK.

I’m a little over a week post ICL procedure and seeing great. At my last check in I was seeing 20/15 in both eyes with no irritation. While the procedure was daunting it only took about 5 minutes per eye and the staff and surgeon were great. I’d note two main things. First there is some eye discomfort the first day but that pretty much resolves with the PredMoxi eye drops. Secondly I do have halos when bright directed lights hit me from the side. Think like driving and car passes you, you’ll get a quick halo or at night when driving under a well lit road I have halos the entire drive. It’s not all that problematic and it doesn’t affect driving, but it’s there and I could see others being more bothered by that than myself. I haven’t done any super long drives at night since the surgery but I expect if I do that could get a bit annoying. Other than that I’ve been super impressed with how quickly I’ve recovered and returned to my normal life. As a contact wearer for the last 15 years of my life it’s definitely been awesome to go to bed and wake up in the morning without out the really bad vision and routine of taking my contacts out at the end of the night. All in all I’ve been very satisfied with my choice. Please feel free to reach out, I’m more than happy to speak about my life before and after ICL surgery and help alleviate or talk through any concerns you may be having.

Hi! I am now 5 days out from my ICL surgery with Dr. Jason Brenner. Prior to my surgery, my prescription in my glasses was -14.00 and -15.25 and could not see anything without my glasses on. I was very nervous that I was not going to have crisp, clear vision due to how bad my prescription was. There was no need to worry...I can see so crisp and clear just 5 days out. From my consultation, to the booking process to the actual day of surgery and follow up appt, Boston Vision has been phenomenal. They answered all my questions and calmed my nerves. The day of the surgery, they put me at ease in the pre-op area and in the OR. In the OR, I couldn't see anything since I didn't have my glasses on but they told me everything they were going to do before they did it. Each eye took about 5 minutes to do. Right after the surgery, with dilated eyes and all I was able to see 20/30. The next day at my follow up appt, I was 20/25 and they expect by my next appt in 2 days for my vision to be even better. The only thing that I have noticed is I still have some halos in certain lighting but overall they do not bother me and have gotten better as the days have progressed.

I had a great experience with the surgery. I now have 20/20 vision and couldn't be happier. Dr. Melki and his staff made sure to check in and ensure both eyes looked right after surgery. The staff was kind and helpful.

The day of surgery was pretty seamless. Once brought to back the preparation for the surgery began and then the surgery itself was less than 10 minutes. After my eye recovered from dilating I had very good vision. The healing has gone fairly well so far and I’m excited to live glasses/contact free!

Today is day 2 post ICL surgery with Dr Melki. I could see right away after surgery which was quite amazing after having been wearing eye glasses for so many years. Certainly vision was quite blurry and I was not able to read or see anything on my phone. Eyes were very light sensitive the day of the surgery as they were dilated. I kept wearing the provided sunglasses for the whole day which helped. I was able to watch TV in the evening without issues. Today vision is still a bit blurry - it is difficult to read and work on a computer. Depending on light I am seeing some halo rings. No pain, just my left eye feels a bit sore and sensitive. Surgery itself went well and was quick. I did not take the xanax that was offered. I did not feel any pain, the main discomfort comes from the bright lights and when they remove the eye draps after surgery. There is a bit of pressure from gel and water being applied. The actual procedure of cutting and inserting the lens was just seconds, I think. Pre-op felt a bit disorganized as the pre-op nurse was coming in and out between different patients and rooms. Sleeping with the protective eye shield is fine. So far I would recommend ICL.

Super happy with my experience with ICL so far - can't wait to see how the eyes get better over time! My left eye is still a little blurry compared to my right eye but I'm still in the early days. Now 5 days post-op and no complications - make sure to follow the post-op instructions. One tip to give would be to be prepared for your consult and come with questions ready if you have any. While I did feel cared for my consult felt rushed and you feel like a machine passing through an assembly line doing all those tests. My advice is once you have the chance to ask questions ask all of them you have. The surgery itself was super quick - they give you an anti-anxiety med if you ask for it prior, but you do need to have a friend to drive you home. Surgery wasn't painful at all, but some parts were uncomfortable in a tugging sensation. totally manageable. Taking a nap after is a good idea to alleviate some dizziness. Definitely buy some extra non-preservative eye drops in advance - I blew through the stock they gave me. I also bought an even darker pair of sunglasses to use outside and used the provided ones for inside instead. I found that useful. I think I got pretty lucky in regard to haloes - mine don't really bother me a lot or I don't have a lot. Just had my 1 week post op today and right eye is perfect, but left eye still a little blurry. I voiced my concerns and was definitely reassured - after the eyes fully heal we can investigate if a touch up is needed. Still really happy all around and look forward to that 2 month checkup.

The doctors were all knowledgeable. The front desk staff was very unwelcoming at Wellesley, much more friendly in Milford. I got a text to remind me of an upcoming appt but it was identified as a "post-op" instead of a "pre-op". When I called to clarify, it sounded like I was calling a large helpdesk center with lots of noise in the background. The person who responded to my call told me to "not worry about it" re: the appt being listed as a post-op. There have been other inaccuracies with follow up appointments. The day of surgery I was told my next day appt was at 2:30pm. I told her it had already been scheduled for 8:05am. I was again dismissed, being told "oh, sometimes the information doesn't come through correctly if you're scheduled with the lasix people". (of note, I had ICL surgery).

I recieved my ICL surgery on May 27, 2026, today is my second day and am excited to share my experience. First of all, the service was great, every technician and doctor I met were very patient and nice. My surgery was done by Dr. Melki, who is very experienced in ICL surgery. My vision was -6 to -7 in both eyes, and have a ~-3 astigmatism. During the process, I can feel a bit pressure in my eyes and can see the blurry watery view, and can feel the lense being implanted. It was not painful at all. I had a little bit of sourness for my left eye right after the surgery but it went away within 2 hours. My vision was clear already after 2-3 hours, and I got back to computer work that night with a sunglass. for my second day, I'm not feeling any discomfort in my eyes, nor any blurriness, and my post-op test on the second day has shown I have 20/20 vision for both eyes! Very surprising and very successful. I still can see halo, which is a completely normal condition after surgery, and I look forward to it disappearing. Overall, My pre-op, surgery and post-op experience were all amazing and I'm glad I'll have a bright vision for the rest of my life hahahaha!

Honest Review: It’s been two weeks since my ICL surgery. I wanted to wait a while, so I was able to give a completely honest review. The Dr. whom I had my consult with was phenomenal, friendly and so informative, however the Dr. who did my actual surgery had no personality. He didn’t introduce himself nor really explain what was going to happen during my surgery and what to expect. I felt more like another person on an assembly line rather than a patient. The first few days to a week were ROUGH, I felt as though my vision was fluctuating, I had extreme light sensitivity, dry eye, and struggled to see closely. I was really reconsidering the whole thing, but I was patient and rested as much as possible. At my one-week post op I was officially 20/20 in both eyes! I was previously -11.75 & -12.25. So, it’s truly a life-changing experience for me! At two weeks out I still struggle a bit with dryness, but I feel as though the environment plays a huge part in that, and I also struggle a bit to see close. This portal has been great; I was able to connect with a few people and hear their experiences and struggles. If anyone as any questions, please reach out I’m happy to help as best as I can.

I am 4 days post-op of my ICL surgery. I have had glasses since I was two years old, and am now 32. I have dry eye so contacts did not work for me as they did in my teen years. I never thought a permanent vision correction would ever be an option for me because i also have Myopic Degeneration. This requires frequent eye injections and there is no cure for it besides monitoring and getting the injection. My experience with Dr. Brenner was amazing. Everything went so quickly and smoothly. All of the staff with Dr. Brenner was also super nice and helpful. They made the entire transition from the exam room to operating room so smooth and easy i was able to stay relaxed and not be nervous for the surgery. Before surgery i had an astigmatism in both eyes and my prescription was at a -14. As fast as moving out of the operating room back to the exam room my left eye was seeing 20/20 and my right eye was 20/25. (my right eye is the one that needs the injections) I am hopeful at my one week post-op both will be 20/20 after everything is completely healed. For me this has changed my life completely and i couldn't thank Boston Vision enough for being able to correct my vision.

I am 4 days post-op of having ICL vision correction surgery with Dr. Brenner at Boston Vision. My experience right from the beginning was smooth and faster than I had anticipated. I came across Boston Vision after having treatments for dry eye and looking into permanent correction options after finding that I should not wear contacts anymore due to my dry eye symptoms. I have been in glasses and wearing contacts for about 10 years now and knew that this would be life changing. The day of surgery was very nerve wracking but the team made me feel comfortable and after the procedure, my vision was very cloudy and I could not see very clearly. The next day the cloudiness was gone and my vision had improved dramatically but I was seeing double as one of my eyes was still very dilated. Each day after surgery my lingering symptoms of headache, pressure, light sensitivity, and blurry vision have improved tremendously. I still am having a hard time reading off my computer screen clearly but it's getting better each day. All in all, my symptoms were not as bad as I had thought they would be and the procedure was honeslty painless. It was uncomfortable and I felt pressure but no pain. It really is an incredible feeling to wake up and not have to fumble for my glasses anymore or even simple things like being able to see in the shower! I highly recommend considering ICL with Boston Vision.

I wore contact lenses for over 30 years and came to a point that I can't wear them anymore. It caused dry eye condition. So I had to wear glasses. I don't like glasses at all. I have to constantly switch between distance glass and reading glass. I was looking for solutions for my eyes that not dependent on glasses. I am glad I found Boston Vision. Dr. Jason Brenner told me that I can have ICL surgery that can meet my goal. I chose monovision since it can help me for both distance and reading at certain degree. I was nervous before the operation. But the surgery went very smoothly. My eyes were blurry on the day of the surgery. I can see clearly the next morning when I woke up. My eyes felt a little heavy due to surgery incision. The discomfort went away in a couple of days. I also see halos under the lights in the evening. I need reading glass to see computer screen clearly. I hope this will improve over time. But I can see things without glasses, that counts thousands words. Thank you so much!!!

I was exhausted the afternoon after ICL in both eyes, and on day 2 (today) my eyes were tired but I didn’t end up needing to nap at all. My 1-Day follow up went well, I’m seeing 20/15, and I have significantly fewer halos than yesterday. Overall I am ecstatic with happiness over how well I’m able to see. Absolutely incredible results. Dr. Jason Brenner is my hero. Day 6: my eyes are less tired by the day, I haven’t experienced dry eyes in accept when I woke up in the morning the first few days, and the halos associated with bright lights are dimming by the day. My vision is slightly less crisp than it was in the first 2 days, but still way better than expected. I’m absolutely thrilled with the results.

My review of the surgery is in my previous post, but as a Functional Nutritionist I wanted to share some aftercare tips on how to nourish post-surgery to help your eyes heal! Lean proteins (chicken, eggs, salmon, tofu, lentils, and Greek yogurt) rejuvenate eye cells, strengthen fragile blood vessels, and rebuild delicate eye tissue. Omega-3s (capsules, salmon, tuna, chia seeds, and walnuts) alleviate post-surgery dry eye symptoms, support retinal lubrication, and manage swelling. Vitamin C-rich foods (oranges, grapefruits, strawberries, kiwi, and red bell peppers) stimulate collagen synthesis, speed up overall wound healing, and reduce surgical inflammation. Leafy greens (spinach, kale, collard greens, and broccoli) provide vitamin A to boost cellular function and lutein which protects the recovering retina. Zinc and vitamin E-rich foods (almonds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, and avocados) transport vitamin A from the liver to the retina while shielding healing tissues from cellular stress. Beta-Carotene rich foods (sweet potatoes, carrots, apricots, and cantaloupe) are essential for the retina, supporting night vision and keeping eyes properly lubricated. To get the most out of your eye-healthy foods, pair them with healthy fats like olive oil, nuts, or avocados to increase nutrient absorption. Be sure to avoid processed sugars, really salty foods, and alcohol because they can add unnecessary pressure and swelling, as well as dehydrate the eyes which can prolong healing. Stay very hydrated, aiming towards half your body weight in ounces of water daily to flush out metabolic waste and keep your eyes lubricated. Happy healing!

I’ve worn glasses my entire life due to my myopia and astigmatism, and I finally decided to get EVO ICL surgery. The procedure was very quick, probably around 6 or 7 minutes per eye. My eyes were numbed, so I only felt a little pressure and saw a bright light, but there was no real pain. After the surgery, I went home and slept for a few hours. When I woke up, I could already see clearly at a distance. I had a bit of inflammation afterward, but I was prescribed eye drops that helped a lot. I still notice some halos when looking at the sun or bright lights at night, but they are manageable. I’m also still having a little difficulty focusing on the computer and my phone, but aside from that, it’s been wonderful to be able to see without glasses. Overall, I’m very happy with my decision and excited to continue adjusting as my eyes heal.

I am 5 days post surgery and feeling great! Most of the reviews I read beforehand are all immediately after surgery (because we are incentivized to post within one week) so I will definitely make sure I circle back with a more medium term assessment. But for now, here are the highlights and some honest moments I experienced: Pros- - Surgery was painless, recovery was painless!!! And I mean literally zero pain, just some swelling, blurriness, sensitivity to light, mental anxiousness. - Healing is going faster than expected. The first afternoon was very foggy but by the next morning I was seeing quite well. - The pre-surgery nurse was kind and comforting. Everything went fast and smoothly. Things to know- - Anxiety drug given before procedure was not very strong for me and wore off quickly. Just be aware you will not be "knocked out" by this, but it will be fine. - One of my eyes cleared up MUCH faster than the other, causing me some brief worry about the slow one. They evened out by the next day! Do not panic. - Only a few days out but I am definitely experiencing some halos, especially in mixed-light settings. Also if the light hits at an angle, I get a brief glimmer around the edges of the ICL. I can update on this later as they say it commonly will finish over time. - One of my lenses was an astigmatism lens, even though I was not previously treated for it before, and definitely feels like there's a lag in focusing that eye. Will update as they adjust. - Try to avoid your phone screen for as long as possible afterward. It really does make you feel what an eye strain it is to be on our phones so much :) - During surgery you do lose vision completely/ go "black" for a few seconds, and this is normal. You'll adjust back quickly and see the lights above come back into focus!

I had EVO ICL with Boston Vision and overall had a very smooth experience. The team was kind and organized, and the surgery day and early post-op visits were clearly explained. I appreciated the detailed instructions and follow-up care. I’m still in the healing period, but overall I’m grateful for the care I received and would recommend Boston Vision to others considering ICL.

I had my ICL procedure about two months ago and I’m really happy with the results. The procedure was painless, with only some mild discomfort. I couldn’t see much right after because my eyes were dilated, but my vision was clear the very next day. I had some halos for the first few weeks, but they’re completely gone now. Overall, I had a great experience and would recommend ICL at Boston Vision to anyone thinking about it.

Boston Vision was excellent and I felt supported the entire time. They ran a battery of tests to help determine which vision correction procedure is best for me (ICL) and I was even able to scheudle my surgery within a month (though I may have gotten lucky there). On the day of the surgery, they put in an extensive series of drops to numb and dilate my eyes. My eyes are extremely sensitive from contacts-related chronic inflammation, so I think I was more sensitive to these drops than most people. The actual surgery took about 10 minutes. The surgery was painless, but not exactly pleasant. However, Dr. Brenner and his team did an excellent job of walking me through each step patiently and explaining what they were doing, helping to keep me calm while also moving as fast as possible to minimize discomfort. I had a decent amount of stinging and pain for an hour after the procedure, but that began to disappear quickly after I took tylenol. By evening, my eyes mostly felt fine, and this morning my eyes feel excellent. Only very mild (1/10) discomfort in one eye that I'm sure will be gone by tonight, and my vision is nearly 20/20 and expected to improve even more as my eyes finish healing. All in all, the procedure itself and immediate recovery were a little uncomfortable, but Boston Vision and Dr. Brenner made the procedure quick and painless, and the quick recovery and 20/20 vision were worth it. I'm very glad I made the decision to get ICL thorugh Boston Vision!

I came to Boston Vision for a vision correction consultation. I've been high myopic (near-sighted) most of my life, and I wore glasses or contact lenses daily. I was a selected as a candidate for the Implantable Collamer Lenses (ICL) surgery, and I underwent the surgery with Dr. Jason Brenner. My quality of life has improved significantly since having the ICL surgery. I highly recommend the ICL surgery for candidates who do not qualify for other vision correction surgeries. Thank you Dr. Brenner and the Boston Vision team!

Very cool experience for me. First few hours was a bit blurry, but then became more and more clear. I can finally get rid of my glasses and contact lenses, it feels amazing. The night vision was also perfect, and I loved it very much. The vault of my right eye is a bit higher than we expected, but it's not a huge problem. And I've been told that the vault would decrease over time. So hopefully it would lower to the ideal height.

I had ICL done last week and I truly feel like a new person. I first had free consultation last month, during which doctor recommended ICL for my case. The consultation process was quick, smooth and very informative. The procedure itself was fast- I was in and out of Boston vision within two hour on the day of surgery. I experienced no pain post procedure, just some light sensitivity and blurry vision on the day of the procedure. By the next day, I had the best vision. I highly recommend ICL and Boston vision to anyone considering vision correction. It's honestly one of the best decisions I've made, and I only wish I had done it sooner.

To start, I will say that my only regret is not having had this procedure done sooner. From consult through surgery and post-op follow-up, I experienced nothing but professionalism, confidence, and reassurance from the team at Boston Vision. When I went in for my initial consult, I had mentally prepared myself for the LASIK path, but when a review of my astigmatism revealed that I was not a candidate for the procedure, I was disheartened in the moment. My concerns were quickly assuaged when I was advised that I WAS a good candidate for ICL surgery. I was further relieved to learn of the rapid and painless recovery post-surgery (now six days out from my own procedure, I can attest to the truth of this, having achieved 20/20 vision by my one-day post-op appointment and only experiencing minimal discomfort and an oft-cited halo-effect which has improved with each passing day). Through the consultation of the BV team, I also opted for the Monovision treatment to retain near-sightedness enough to prolong the eventual need for reading glasses (a clear plus for an avid reader who also spends too much time on his phone). I cannot recommend this procedure or Boston Vision strongly enough. To be able to wake up the morning after surgery and see without glasses for the first time since 4th grade was a priceless experience. I would be happy to reflect further on my own experience should it be helpful to anyone else.

Great experience all around. I am 2 days out and have 20-20 vision with a little dry eye and tiredness / soreness but otherwise feeling great. I was quite nervous to have the surgery as I am a fainter in medical settings but the team was super supportive and the surgery went pretty seamlessly. I would highly recommend and it’s worth getting over any fears you may have to invest in yourself.

I recently had ICL surgery at Boston Vision, and I honestly couldn’t be happier with my experience. Being able to wake up and see clearly without reaching for my glasses has been life-changing. I was very nervous on the day of my surgery, but Dr. Brenner and the entire team were incredibly kind, patient, and reassuring. They took the time to make me feel comfortable and helped ease all of my anxiety, which meant so much to me. I’m so grateful to the team at Boston Vision and would highly recommend them to anyone considering ICL surgery.

I had my ICL Surgery on 4/15/26, so I am 5 days post-op. From the beginning of my consultation up to the time of my surgery, the staff and Dr. Brenner were always available to answer my questions. On the day of surgery, I had more excitement than nervousness. I wore contacts and glasses since I was in middle school. I also have astigmatism. I received the dilation and numbing drops for preparation. Inside the surgery room they taped down my upper and lower lashes, and clamped my lids open. I had to stare at the bright lights and just felt a lot of pressure then pain. Each eye took about 10mins. I was given a bag with sunglasses since my eyes were very sensitive with light, eye drops for 1 week, and special goggles to sleep in at night. Leaving surgery, I could see, but had some blurriness. When I got home, I really wanted to just sleep and rest. I experienced more blurriness on my right eye and some pain and headache, panicked and called Dr. Brenner who reassured me it's normal and part of healing. I took some Tylenol and after taking my scheduled drops, the severe blurriness went away on the right eye to match my left eye. At my next day appointment, I was able to drive myself and everything looked great and was healing well. Each day I feel my vision is getting better and looking forward to the blurriness going away completely. Overall, the best decision I've made.

A couple days post ICL and loving my brand new vision. From a lifelong struggle with incredibly poor vision, uncomfortable contacts, and migraines for glasses, this procedure has changed my life and even given me one step beyond 20-20 vision (now 20-15!). The staff are supportive and knowledgeable, and the procedure went by in a flash. Recovery thus far has been a breeze with minimal discomfort. Glad I traveled down from Maine to receive the Boston Vision expert level care.

I'm on the 4th day post operation of EVO ICL surgery with Monovision at Boston Vision, and overall it was a really positive experience. From the first consultation through the actual procedure, the staff was professional, organized, and reassuring, which made everything feel much easier than I expected. They took time to explain the process clearly and answer my questions, so I felt prepared going in. The surgery itself was quick and straightforward, it felt like 3 minutes per eye. While it wasn’t completely comfortable, it was very manageable. The recovery was also smoother than I expected, with my vision improving quickly after the first day. Not having to rely on glasses or contacts anymore will be a huge improvement and my goal. The only issue I have is seeing the halos in my vision and hope that goes away over time. Overall I'm very happy with the results and glad I chose Boston Vision for the procedure.

My ICL surgery with Dr. Brenner went very well. The procedure was very quick, it felt like about 10 minutes for both eyes, not including preparation time. My vision felt good after the surgery, although I experienced halos when looking at lights (which I was told is normal after ICL). At my post-op visit the next day, my vision was 20/20, although it was occasionally slightly blurry. I did notice mild pain in my left eye when focusing on close objects, but the doctor explained that this is part of the normal recovery process and that it takes time for the eyes to adjust. Since then, both the mild discomfort and the halos have been improving. Today is the fifth day after surgery, and I feel great. I can use electronic devices normally without any issues. Overall, I am very satisfied with my decision to choose Boston Vision for my ICL surgery.

Post op day 4 of ICL. Vision was good immediately after srugery but slowly got better as dilation wore off. Was able to give a lecture the following morning without issues. Check up day after surgery said everything was good. Initial prescription was -7.75 in both eyes with astigmatism but now seeing 20/20 Do notice halos from bright lights at certain angles but they don't inhibit anything and aren't annoying. Recovery symptoms are a little worse compared to immediately post op and the day after. Eyes are a little bit more discomfort but not painful. Can't rub my eyes but even lightly touching my eye feels like touching a bruise. Also get a sensation that comes and goes that almost feels like when there is a tear in your lashes but nothing is there and it goes away spontaneously. Minor symptoms though and hopeful it will get better as healing progresses. Overall had a great experience with Boston Vision. Super simple and straightforward. Was able to schedule appointment to be evaluated within a few days and then scheduled surgery about 2 weeks after I paid. Surgery itself was a few mins with no pain, only a little discomfort looking into a bright light. Very seamless.

My ICL surgery with Dr. Brenner went very well. It was a remarkably quick procedure - around 10 minutes on the table for both eyes. The recovery was easy. I had very minimal soreness for two days following and some dry eye that was relieved with OTC drops. I saw 20/20 (r) and 20/25 (L) the day after my surgery.

I'm one week out from my ICL surgery and wanted to share how it's gone so far. On surgery day I actually had two procedures done. Along with the ICL implant, Dr. Melki cut LASIK flaps as well. Because my astigmatism is so high at 5.5 diopters, I'll most likely need LASIK afterward to correct the residual astigmatism, so doing both at once made sense. The surgery itself wasn't bad at all. My first eye was completely painless. The second eye was a little uncomfortable but it was over so fast. I felt totally fine when I left. The hard part was the car ride home. I had almost a two hour drive and toward the end one of my eyes started throbbing with pressure. I called the office and Dr. Melki said that some pressure after having two procedures done at the same time isn't unusual. It ended up feeling better as soon as I laid down. I took Tylenol PM that night to make sure I slept good and just kept up with regular Tylenol the next day for some minor discomfort. Vision wise, I didn't notice a big difference right away, but at my one day post op I was already testing at 20/20. My prescription was never really the problem though. It was the 5.5 diopters of astigmatism that was making it hard to see, and that's what the LASIK part of the plan will finish off for correcting. The first week has had some minor discomfort here and there and occasional blurry vision in one eye. The most annoying things have been headaches from my eyes trying to adjust and light sensitivity that made doing homework tough. Not unbearable, just something to deal with. Tomorrow is my one week follow up and I'm looking forward to finding out how things are healing and when I can get the LASIK scheduled to finish everything out. Overall I have no complaints. The team has been great to work with.

Currently am 6 days post surgery and am feeling at 98% today with some halos and tiredness from working on my laptop for the better half of the morning! While the process of the surgery itself is uncomfortable and anxiety provoking, it is relatively quick and I took 2 days off of work following to recover and take care of myself. The team was really excellent and played fun music during the surgery which honestly helped to just set a nice light mood to the surgery itself. I started to be able to see better that night and especially the following morning. It hasn't fully sunk in that I no longer need glasses as I reach for them every morning but I think in the next couple weeks, it's really going to settle in mentally. I am definitely an anxious person so I have made sure to be diligent about the post-op instructions, limiting screen time, and using protective glasses when I'm outside. I'd recommend this surgery to anyone who's overused contacts and is looking to have some more ease surrounding their vision.

(The system forced me to pick a different service for every review, but I just had monovision PRK surgery all the way through.) So, I had my adjustment PRK monovision surgery in January 2026 after experiencing the first PRK surgery for 9 months and not feeling like I ever got to crispness of vision or to the true monovision. It was a good decision. I was of course very nervous to go through the healing process again. They say it takes about a week to go back to work and life, but that is not entirely true. My vision was still healing and unstable for 2 months afterward, and I didn't feel comfortable driving again until almost 3 months! I could be functional, but definitely not normal - looking at screens for work, watching TV, getting behind the wheels was all very shaky. So just prepare to not be able to do everything to 100%. My monovision did kick in this time, so it took longer for my vision to adjust back to normal. The adjustment to monovision made it hard to watch TV, read and drive for the first couple of months - so be warned about that. But now that I'm at the 3-months mark, my vision is SO MUCH BETTER! I can look at my computer screen, watch TV, and drive normally again. This time around, my vision is much clearer than the first round. I would advise to talk to your surgeon if your vision is not how you expect it to be. The other thing that I did this time around that I think helped with the healing process is constantly using the artificial tears. I didn't do that regularly the first time around bc my eyes didn't feel dry. This time, I used the artificial tears every couple of hours regardless of feeling dry or not. The healing process is not a slam dunk, but I would definitely trade 3 months of discomfort for a lifetime of glasses-free vision!

Today is day 4th after my ICL procedure with monovision as I dont want to wear reading glasses later on. I finally picked to go with ICL over PRK as the healing process. And; I am overall satisfied with ICL procedure and all the services from preop to post op here at Boston vision. The procedure went fast, not painful at all. It is a little of weird feeling to me as I have to be awake during the surgery, also I was nervous alot too. However, all went great and quick. About 10 minutes for one eye, then I walked out of the procedure room to test for that eye, then quickly come back to the procedure room for the other eye. Both of my eye are healing well, yes, I still see some halos around bright lights, blurry and eye fatigue some time, which I hope it will improve soon.

I had CLE LASIK surgery in December, and overall, my experience has been very positive. From the start, the doctors and staff were professional, attentive, and reassuring throughout the entire process. The post-surgery plan included follow-up adjustments over four weeks, which gave me confidence that my vision would be carefully monitored and fine-tuned. As it turned out, I felt ready by the third adjustment, and my vision had already improved significantly by then. I did the monovision setup, with one eye optimized for distance and the other for near vision. That required time to adapt, but now, it genuinely feels like I have “20/20” vision, everything is clear and sharp. That said, since this is new for me, I’m still getting used to what “normal” should feel like after the procedure. Overall, I’m very pleased with both the results and the level of care I received, and I would absolutely recommend this experience to others considering the procedure.

My surgery was done by Mr.Melki. The procedure was very quick to finish. Everything went smoothly and well, except during the surgery I felt a little bit pain and pressure. My degrees were very high before the surgery! Right now I can see the clear world. It feels so nice!
