My experience with ICL surgery at Boston Vision was truly amazing. From my very first appointment through my recovery, I felt supported, cared for, and confident that I was in the right hands. Dr. Brenner was outstanding. He took the time to explain everything clearly, answered all my questions, and made me feel comfortable throughout the entire process. His professionalism and experience gave me complete confidence going into the surgery. Mrs. Patel was also incredible. She was always kind, patient, and attentive. She made sure I felt comfortable and supported every step of the way, and her care made a big difference in my experience. The surgery itself was quick, my recovery went smoothly, and the results have been better than I could have imagined. Being able to see clearly without depending on glasses or contacts has truly changed my daily life. I highly recommend Boston Vision and the entire team. Everyone I met was professional, welcoming, and genuinely cared about my experience. A special thank you to Dr. Brenner and Mrs. Patel for the amazing care and for helping me achieve a new vision and a new quality of life.

I had an incredibly quick and mostly painless surgery! The rest of the day was rather uncomfortable, but I’d liken the pain to that of a sunburn- I slept the entire evening into the next morning. At that point in time, my vision was a little clouded. By the next day, I was feeling amazing and everything had cleared up. The team at Boston vision was clear, efficient, precise and I felt comfortable and informed the entire time.

Good experience with recovery so far, one week in. I didn’t see a lot of day by day discussion of what the experience was like so I’ll provide that. 7/7 - surgery with Dr. Gregoire in Andover. Uncomfortable experience; bit of a sensory overload. Quick and absolutely zero pain. Not enjoyable but also not a reason not to get the surgery. Immediately after surgery vision extremely blurry. About an hour later, numbing drops wore off, and my eyes were uncomfortable, feels a bit like particularly uncomfortable contacts. Not painful, though. Kept eyes closed as instructed for 4 hours but was not able to sleep. If I ever have to get a touch up I’d probably get an ambien prescription to take after. After the 4 hours I had decent, albeit blurry vision for the rest of the night. Bad glare and bad peripheral vision. 7/8 - right eye healed well overnight. Left eye less so. At follow up exam with Dr. Nangle I had 20/20 in left and 20/15 in right. Still blurry in peripherals. Right eye felt normal but dry, left eye remained uncomfortable. 7/9 - 7/10 - left eye seemed to finish healing by 7/9. I went back to work. Screens were difficult. No notable discomfort other than dry eyes. I did wake up with severe dry eyes once which was unpleasant. Eye drops immediately resolved. 7/11-7/13 (present) - steady improvement. At work on 7/13 I did not have difficulty with screens. My peripheral vision still feels slightly off, but only if I’m thinking about it. Glare continues to improve, still a minor annoyance but not a big deal and it has gotten better each day. I do think stopping the medicated drops was a turning point for me in terms of comfort. I have not had another follow up but I think I’m 20/15 in both eyes, which is cool, as it’s noticeably better vision that I ever got with contacts or glasses. The downside right now is I’m putting in eye drops probably 10x per day. Overall, very happy so far. Obviously, I don’t know yet if the dry eye will fully recover over the next couple months, but, if they do, which they do for most people, I will be extremely happy not to worry about contacts or glasses hopefully for a very long time.

"Life changing" was the term my colleague used to describe the CLE procedure that her mother had earlier that year. She wasn't wrong. As a child my earliest photos show me wearing an eye patch and then glasses until my teenage years when I got contact lenses. I have never woken up in the morning without reaching for my glasses- until now. The result was all that I have dreamed of and much more. I will however say that this was not a magic wand that happened overnight- it was a process. For me that process began with some pre-surgeries on my corneas and recovery times before I could go ahead with CLE. Drops lots of drops and periods of adjustment where reading screens for work was difficult in the two weeks following the procedures until my vision adapted. The post operative glasses worn at all times didn't really bother me. I received comments asking whether they were Google glasses! My teenager referred to me lovingly as the nerd emoji. With the exception of a little dry eye now 6 weeks post op, I am experiencing life in Ultra HD- crisper, clearer and brighter than before. Thanks Boston Vision team!

Hey all, Just an update on my monovision surgery experience I had in January 2026. It seems like the monovision did not take and I am scheduled to speak with doc again to have the straight lasik correction for distance in both eyes. Anyone in need or wish to discuss my experiences with the monovision and the shortcoming in my instance I experienced please reach out. I will end by saying I did not regret trying monovision. Also, the staff and doctors at Boston Vision are top notch and have been monitoring my successes and shortcoming the whole way looking to make my vision perfect. I could not be happier with the experience so far.

Had a great experience with the procedure itself and everything related. My only challenge has been with the billing side of it and getting the proper information needed for my insurance.

Today marks 3 weeks since my ICL surgery and I'm happy to share that my vision has gotten better since the initial first few days. I am way less sensitive to light and see less halos and rings. Day of the surgery - Very tired and slept to entire day. No pain just sensitivity to light. Day after surgery - 20/20 vision. I could go outside and take myself to the follow up appt but just needed sunglasses. Strong rings and halos around lights especially at night or in dark rooms like parking garages. Some challenge to shower without touching my eyes so I wore swimming goggles in the shower Two Days after surgery - Went to the park to paint and noticed some pain when changing vision from super close canvas to a far away landscape I was painting. Also noticed pain if I accidentally touched my eyes int he shower. Otherwise, totally fine to be outside with sunglasses and do normal things like going out to eat with a friend or shopping Three Weeks after surgery - My eyesight only got better as I recovered from the procedure. I see less halos around lights and do not require sunglasses. I'm doing all the normal day to day things and don't need to put on glasses or contacts which is amazing. Thank you Boston Vision!

The experience with Boston Lasik was great. Communication was clear. Appointments were prompt. Time spent in-office was minimal. Surgery: Very quick. No pain. There is discomfort with the amount of fluids being used to flush the eyes. Post-op: The light sensitivity post-surgery (even with sunglasses) was greater than I had anticipated. I would assume 3-4 days (minimum) of limited to no screen and no driving. Overall recovery: There was fluctuation is vision for approximately 8 weeks, and I would say it was closer to 12 weeks when vision stabilized for me. I did not have much issues with dry eyes.

I chose Boston vision because of the referrals/recommendations from individuals in my community. The experience overall was a bit transactional for pre-op and post-op as well as the surgery, but overall the doctors were friendly and everyone was thorough. I had dry eye prior to LASIK and expected the continued dry eye to persist post-op. It has which makes my vision a bit blurry, but it's amazing to wake up every morning and see. My vision was very bad prior to LASIK (-8.00 in both eyes), and now I can travel without glsases/contacts or have to worry about forgetting them at home. Overall, a week out I'm so glad I did this and my only regret is not doing it sooner.

I had an outstanding experience at Boston Vision for my CLE procedure with Dr. Melki. From my very first consultation through my follow-up visits, everyone was kind, professional, and made me feel comfortable every step of the way. Dr. Melki is an exceptional surgeon. He took the time to explain the procedure thoroughly, answered all of my questions, and made me feel confident in my decision. On the day of the procedure, everything was organized and efficient, and I felt I was in the best possible hands. The results have exceeded my expectations. My vision has improved tremendously, and the procedure has truly had a positive impact on my daily life. I am incredibly grateful to Dr. Melki and the entire Boston Vision team for their outstanding care, expertise, and compassion. I highly recommend Boston Vision and Dr. Melki to anyone considering CLE or other vision correction procedures. Thank you for giving me the gift of clearer vision!

Finally did LASIK on 6/26 with Dr. Brenner in Brookline after putting it off for years because I was nervous. Glad I did it! Pre-op was quick and easy, everyone explained what to expect, and I got sent home with a little bag of drops/sunglasses/goggles for post-op care. Dr. Brenner only talked to me for ~2 min beforehand, but he was reassuring and walked me through what would happen in the OR. Unfortunately, the Xanax they gave me didn’t kick in until after the procedure, so I had to calm myself down by meditating while waiting for the OR. The actual procedure is short but pretty intense. The first laser (cutting the flap) is mostly just pressure, super quick. I could kinda feel the thing they use to hold your eye open, but they quickly put more numbing drops in. The second one (reshaping your cornea) is weirder. Your vision goes dark and you're just staring at a blurry green light, trying not to move. Not painful exactly, but definitely not comfortable. The staff talked me through it the whole time, which helped a ton. I could see clearly almost immediately after. At my 1 day follow up, I was already at 20/20 (read a few letters past that even!). My eyes felt kind of like sandpapery/like I'd slept in contacts too long but they told me that's normal. The dryness got worse over the next few days, especially in my right eye. Staring at a computer all day for work didn’t help, but once the medicated eye drop regimen stopped, the dryness started getting better. I’m a week in now and still need eye drops, but don’t wake up feeling like I slept in contacts. It’s still a little hazy when I wake up and I get halos around lights at night, but dark mode on my devices has helped. Hopefully these’ll go away as I keep healing. Overall, an uncomfortable 10 minutes for what's already looking like a great outcome. Would recommend Dr. Brenner if you're in the Boston area and thinking about it.

Great experience...could not say enough about the Boston Vision Andover Team. From the initial consultation to my last follow-up, every staff member that I dealt with was knowledgeable, professional and customer driven. They actually suggested only doing one eye as I did not wear reading glasses. (So now, one eye is 20/15 and the other is used for reading/phone. No glasses!) Not to mention the procedure itself. Day of the procedure they had all of my questions answered before I could even ask. I know they have to explain all aspects of the procedure and possible results, but that was the worst part. :-) The procedure and "recouperation" were a breeze. I actually asked the Doctor "That's it?!?" when he told me we were done. I know everyone is different but (not to sound cliche) my only regret is that I didn't do it sooner.

I got Monovision Lasik with Dr. Melki on June 5, 2026 at the Brookline location. I've been wearing glasses since I was 9 and had blurry vision whenever I did activities for which I could not easily wear my glasses. Before the procedure, Dr. Melki was really nice and straightforward with answers to any questions I had to ensure I didn't accidentally hinder the healing process in the days following the surgery. Dr. Melki and the assistants were amazing during the surgery, with one holding my hands and another asking me questions to help keep me calm and distracted, and listening when I informed them if I felt like more numbing drops were needed. The pressure on my eyes did feel uncomfortable and it was strange having my eyelids held open so I couldn't blink, but it was never painful. After the surgery, I kept my eyes closed almost the entire time on the way home as it felt tricky to fully open them without it feeling uncomfortable and then I slept for four hours as instructed. After about five hours my eyes felt fine and I was able to see clearly both near and far. It's been a month after the surgery and my vision is still sharp and clear, though there are moments when there's slightly blurry midrange vision when both eyes/ brain are trying to balance each other out. But that can take up to three months to fully settle in. A few things I noticed and recommend: 1) When taking the medication to help keep you calm during the surgery, ask if you can have it around the time you arrive, (I think it didn't affect me as I have a slow metabolism and I took it not long before the surgery). 2) During the surgery, the green light will seem to blink so don't worry if that happens (ask them if you want to make sure). 3) It might be a good idea to bring a small soft plush you can easily squeeze. The plush they offered felt a little too stiff/ firm for me to hold. 4) Make sure the room you have prepared at home to sleep in for the fours hours fully blocks out light. The days after the surgery, I would doze off but I made sure to follow the eye drop medication regimen. Darkened rooms also seemed to help with my eyes focusing (don't be shy about wearing sunglasses if there's too much light indoors/ computer screens).

I got Lasik at Boston Vision and had an overall great experience. My initial consultation was free and thorough, with a clear discussion of costs and payment options. Staff were friendly and walked me through my options, including PRK, along with the pluses and minuses of each. I’d actually been evaluated at a different office a year earlier, but that experience wasn’t as good, and Boston Vision’s Brookline location was much closer and more convenient. I got a surgery date less than a month after my first visit. I met with the surgeon beforehand. In the surgery room, there were several other people around -- likely technicians and trainees (I work in healthcare) — and it would have been nice if they’d introduced themselves. The procedure itself involves noticeable pressure on each eye to position things and create the flap, one eye at a time. It’s uncomfortable, though brief, followed by the laser correction. They did warn me about the pressure ahead of time. Afterward, my vision was foggy, but I could already tell the correction had worked. I didn’t fully grasp beforehand how much my close-up vision would be affected. I did monovision, and it took a few weeks for my vision to settle and my close vision to return. I had some headaches early on and struggled with screens and reading text on my phone, but distance vision was sharp right away — 20/15 in both eyes at my 3-day follow-up. My eyes were quite dry, and I hydrated aggressively with preservative-free drops, which you really can’t overdo. By my 7-week follow-up, my close vision had improved a lot, distance vision remained excellent, and the dryness had eased significantly. I still use drops for comfort, but I’m happy with the results so far.

After being told for many years by my previous optometrist I was not a candidate for corrective eye surgery I did decide to seek a second opinion, within 3 weeks I had my consult and the procedure done. I now have 20/20 and after 32 years of wearing glasses I feel free.

LASIK Review Hi, I hope this review helps anyone currently on the fence about getting LASIK. [Brief background] I’m a 35-year-old inpatient physical therapist living in Boston. I’m active, enjoy indoor bouldering, snowboarding, and I’m currently training for Hyrox. I’ve worn glasses since middle school and have considered LASIK since graduate school. My biggest motivators were the hassle of wearing glasses under ski goggles (I’m aware of adapters, but still) and while climbing or hiking. My hesitation came down to two things: the cost and the fear that it wouldn’t work, despite seeing positive reviews and studies citing a 97-98% satisfaction rate. Ultimately, I decided to move forward after researching the new Wavelight Plus technology, which boasts a 100% chance of 20/20 vision and an 86% chance of 20/15 (better than 20/20). After confirming the studies and discovering a special discount through my vision insurance, I decided it was worth the shot. [Pre-op Experience] I chose Boston Vision because they were the only one in MA that offered Wavelight Plus. I had a consultation with them two years prior but didn't pull the trigger because the technology wasn’t available at that time. I first scheduled a consultation at the Medford location; the parking was convenient, and the pre-op exam felt like a well-oiled machine. The staff was nice and knowledgeable. Working in healthcare, I could tell some were "going through the motions," but that’s not inherently bad—they clearly knew their stuff. They used the Wavelight Plus technology to create a 3D scan of my eye, which provides significantly more data points than the standard Wavefront technology. Given my significant astigmatism, my main concern was whether I was a good candidate. I was told I was. That same day I booked a lasik appointment 2 weeks out, but had to reschedule due to availability. Only two doctors at Boston Vision are certified for Wavelight Plus—Dr. Melki and Dr. Brenner. My schedule didn't align with Dr. Melki’s, so I went with Dr. Brenner on a Friday about 1.5 months out (surgery time: TBD). I received plenty of educational videos and materials via email which I highly recommend people to watch. The surgery time was provided to me about a week from the surgery day. Leading up to the day, I was diligent about using preservative-free lubricating eye drops for about 2 weeks, as I have dry eyes and didn't want to risk being rescheduled. I also made sure to secure a ride—huge shout-out to my friend who pulled an all-nighter and still drove me to and from the appointment. They won’t send you home independently or via rideshare if you decide to take the xanax. [Day of Surgery] I arrived early for a final vision exam. I noticed my left eye prescription felt slightly different than before. I mentioned this to the tech and the doctor, both of whom confirmed it was still within the acceptable range for surgery. Dr. Brenner was efficient, double-checked the numbers, and asked if I had any questions. After he left, a tech asked me to sign a clause stating I had been informed of the high chance of needing a "touch-up." This made me nervous, so I asked for clarification. The tech explained that it was just an automated system trigger based on the doctor’s input—likely due to the slight change in my left eye prescription—and that I didn't need to sign it after all. Everything turned out fine (I tested 20/20 in my left eye and 20/15 in my dominant right eye at my first post-op visit). After receiving a Xanax (highly recommended to stay calm) and a hairnet, I waited in the lounge with some snacks, which was clutch since I’d skipped breakfast. After about 15 minutes, I was brought into a cold, bright room with about 10 people in scrubs. The most uncomfortable part was the creation of the corneal flap. On a pain scale of 1–10, I’d rate it a 5/10. It felt more like heavy pressure than suction. The doctor gave solid cues, warning me when my vision may go black (which was normal). That lasted only 10–15 seconds, and I didn't feel the incision at all. My anxiety was a 7/10 for the left eye, but for the right eye, I was better prepared, and both anxiety and discomfort dropped to a 4/10. The laser portion followed. I focused on a green light, felt slight vibrations and smelled a faint burning scent, but it was over in 5–10 seconds per eye. Afterward, they removed the eyelid tape (5/10 pain there), gave me sunglasses, and sent me home to sleep for four hours. The Xanax kicked in as soon as I got in my friend’s car. My vision was nearly as clear as when I’d worn glasses. [Post-op Day 0] I slept for four hours in the protective clear glasses. When I woke up, I could see clearly! The only irritation was in my right eye, which felt like a hair or grit was scratching the surface when I blinked. The eye drops helped a lot. My left eye looked red from a popped blood vessel during the suction, but it felt fine. I wore the protective glasses for the full 24 hours as instructed. [Post-op Day 1] Vision remained solid. My right eye was still dry and uncomfortable (3/10), but my left eye felt fine, just slightly fatigued from phone use. During my follow-up, I tested 20/15 in the right eye and 20/20 in the left. The doctor explained that it takes a few weeks to three months to stabilize, so I’m not worried about the slight blurriness in the left eye. The "scratchy" feeling in my right eye was noted as normal and improved significantly by Day 3. [POD 2 & 3] By Day 2, my right eye was definitely dominant. I’ve been practicing focusing with my left eye by covering the right eye. I struggled a bit with eye fatigue at work while documenting on the computer, so I’d highly recommend taking 2 days off after lasik to rest your eyes. By Day 3, the discomfort dropped to 2/10 in the right eye, and work became much more tolerable. [POD 4] Discomfort is down to 1/10. My right eye remains dominant, and I’m still hoping the left eye sharpens up as it heals. If not, I’ll look into a touch-up later. I’ve finished the prescription drops and am continuing with lubricating drops as needed. [POD 5] Second follow-up visit upcoming.

I had LASIK with Dr. Brenner at Boston Vision on Friday, June 26, and my experience has been excellent. From the initial consultation through the procedure and follow-up appointments, everyone has been professional, friendly, and reassuring. My vision was amazing the first day after surgery. A few days later, it started to fluctuate because of dry eyes, which I understand is a normal part of the healing process after LASIK. Hopefully, that will continue to improve as my eyes heal. At my follow-up visit, Dr. Brenner was very thoughtful and proactive—he inserted a punctal plug to help with the dryness and took the time to answer all of my questions and make sure I was comfortable. Based on my experience so far, I would absolutely recommend Boston Vision and Dr. Brenner to anyone considering LASIK.

I did Lasik Wavelight Plus 4 days ago with Dr. Brenner, and no regrets so far! I’m already seeing very clearly with 20/20 on one eye and 20/15 on the other. There was no pain during the surgery, and it went by very quickly. The step that shocked me the most was how hard the suction ring pressed down on my eyeballs to create the flap. It was A LOT of pressure. After that, everything was fine/no discomfort at all. I was able to walk out without feeling too much irritation in my eyes after the surgery. I can’t stress enough the importance of taking the 4 hours nap IMMEDIATELY after you get home. I made the mistake of trying to have a quick bite (since it was around lunch time and I was hungry) before resting. My eyes were killing me by then: tearing non-stop, burning, and lots of irritation. I dropped everything and ran to bed, but it was a bit too late that the discomfort was making me hard to fall asleep. Eventually I was able to do so, and once I woke up from the nap, all the discomfort went away with just a bit of foreign object sensation in my left eye. I was able to see very clearly. By day 2, the foreign object sensation in my left eye was gone. By day 4 (today), I am able to see clearly during the day with little to no discomfort, maybe a little bit of dry eyes. At night, I am experiencing some light shattering when I stare at bright light source. I am hoping as I continue to recover this will go away eventually. Overall, my experience was good, and I would recommend others to get Lasik done at Boston Vision if eligible.

I had LASIK five days ago and I chose Dr. Brenner (second to Dr. Melki) after reading through the various profiles. The fact that he had done the procedure on his own family members was very reassuring. I had been putting off LASIK for years because I was really scared of the procedure, even though I knew so many people that had it done and are free from glasses. Honestly, the worst part was the anxiety; the procedure itself wasn’t painful at all. Not being able to blink and being under so many machines was a little intimidating but it was so quick! After I got home the day of surgery, I slept for the rest of the day and when I woke up in the morning I was excited to discover I could see without glasses or contacts! I had minimal pain and burning. Overall, my recovery has been going well. I still don’t quite have perfectly clear vision and I have to take breaks from screens but I understand this is all part of the healing process. I am extremely happy I finally did it, and should have done it so much sooner! I can’t wait for my recovery to be complete so I can enjoy my “new eyes”!

I had my LASIK done in two separate sessions. During the first visit, the suction didn't hold on one eye, so only one eye was treated that day. The team immediately scheduled a follow-up to discuss next steps. I was clear that I wanted to try LASIK again rather than switch to PRK, and the doctor was very supportive — He explained that the suction device is one-size-fits-all and may not work for every eye, but that we could try again in two weeks since my eyes were otherwise great candidates. He also made sure I understood the backup plan: if suction didn't hold on the second attempt, we'd convert to PRK on the spot. Later, the doctor got suction on the second try and completed the procedure. The next morning I opened my eyes to perfectly clear vision — no pain, no discomfort at all. Recovery has been smooth. What really stood out was how the team handled the unexpected situation. There was no pressure, no rushing — just honest communication and a clear plan. I always felt like I was part of the decision-making process. Highly recommend.

I just had my EVO ICL procedure done in June by Dr. Melki. They took me in quickly once I arrived for my appointment, answered any questions I had before starting (I got a chance to ask both the nurse and Dr. Melki questions), and got me ready for the procedure. The operation itself was fairly quick and I only experienced minor discomfort during it. They walked me out between each eye to see if the lenses were in correctly as well. Afterwards my eyes were a little dry, but as long as I kept up with the eye drop regimen it felt close to normal within a day or so. My vision mostly stabilized on the same day as the surgery and has slightly improved in the following days. My right eye ended up with 20/15 vision and my left was slightly less than 20/20, so they may have to go back and correct the left afterwards. Overall it was an amazing experience!

I had ICL surgery 3 days ago with Dr Brenner. The surgery and recovery after it was painless. My right eye was 20/20 one day after surgery but my left eye was 20/40 and still blurry. My eyes are getting used to the light and doing way better compared to day 1. I will update again as my vision improves

I had LASIK a few days ago. I chose Dr. Brenner after a family member recommended him, and then I did my own research before deciding to go through with it. I had been putting off LASIK for so long because I was really scared of the procedure, even though I always dreamed of being free from glasses and being able to see clearly from far away. Honestly, the procedure itself wasn’t painful at all for me. The hardest part was the anxiety of not being able to blink and being under so many machines. Even after I got home the day of surgery, I had very manageable pain and burning. I couldn’t even sleep for more than 1.5 hours and it was still okay. Overall, my recovery has been going well. I have 20/20 vision now, but things still aren’t as clear and sharp as I expected, and I’ve been having a hard time with screens like my phone and computer because they seem so bright and it’s difficult to focus for long periods. I was told this is all part of the healing process, but I wasn’t really prepared for it mentally since I had heard so many people say they went right back to work the next day. Overall this is the most difficult part of LASIK so far for me. I guess everyone heals differently. Even with these temporary frustrations, I’m happy I finally did it, and I can’t wait for my recovery to be complete so I can enjoy the full results!

The procedure was quick but I was in the waiting for the procedure for 3 hours past my scheduled appointment time. I have had glasses for over 2 decades and I wanted LASIK since I was young. I was a candidate for both LASIK and ICL but ultimately with the LASIK cause of the price. I chose Boston Vision for the abundance of reviews it has and the Brookline location proximity to my home. On the day of the consult, it took 2 hours but the doctor never shared how bad my eyes have gotten as my current glasses are 3-4 years old. That prescription was around -5.00/-6.00. On the day of the procedure, my eyes got rescanned and degrees were checked again. Although in hindsight, I should have reinforced the clarity of my right eye as the lens she adjusted to me was still kind of hazy/blurry. I also met Dr. Brenner for the first time and interaction was short as the staff expects patients to watch & read all the materials they provided beforehand. Once I got ushered to the operation room, everything goes by quick. I laid down on the bed with my head in the donut hole as instructed. Numbing drops were placed and my eyes were propped open, then Dr. Brenner got started. It was quick although a bit uncomfortable as my eyes wanted to blink. I wish Dr. Brenner had talked through what he was doing and what he’s gonna do next so I knew what to expect. Before I knew it, it was done and I can walk out myself. They provided one pair of sunglasses, sleep guard for eyes, artificial tear (1 bottle, but honestly could’ve provided extra with the cost of the procedure) and 1 bottle of prednisolone. I took a nap after I went home and woke up with near 20/20 vision. It’s been almost a week post procedure and my vision is still stabilizing. There will be times where my vision is blurry and times when they’re fine. My vision is not crisp yet and I hope with more time, it will get better. The prednisolone eye drops traveled to my throat and left a really bad taste in my mouth. The dry eye part also was very unpleasant. It made me question if LASIK was right choice. The follow up appts with Dr. Sabbah just recommended eye drops. I also felt like my appointments with Dr. Sabbah was quick and he had no time for questions. Overall, I would recommend LASIK, but just don’t expect healing to be linear.

CLE, LAL, both eyes, Monovision, M, 59 years. Dr. Melki-surgeon, Dr. Yao- LAL Dr., both in Brookline office. Great experience. I felt well taken care of. Surgery is very sci-fi, but went smooth and efficient with the actual surgery taking only 5-10 minutes. My left eye was most sensitive after the surgery but the Dr. put a clear contact on it that alleviated most of the discomfort. The worst part for me during the entire process was the amount of numbing and dilation drops administered. It made my eyes extremely sensitive to bright lights. That subsided the next day. After surgery I noticed my improved eyesight, but then after the first LAL my eyesight improved even more. I only needed one adjustment. There are 2 lock in appointments needed. It involved staring at the brightest light I have ever seen in my life for anywhere from 90' to 125'. After which all highlights were magenta. Dr. Yao said this would go away after a couple days but mine lasted most of a week. Today marks 2 days since final lock in and the magenta haze is gone and I have 20/20 vision! It was a crazy experience but so glad I did it.

I was told I had one of the worst cases of astigmatism the doctor had ever seen and it was getting worse so I knew I needed surgical correction. I was told that Lasik was the best option. It was not the most comfortable procedure - but a week later I have nearly 20/20 vision in both eyes and I am glad I went through with it.

I recently had an Agnes microneedling treatment for my face, and overall, my experience was very positive. I was a bit nervous going in, especially since I’ve heard that microneedling can be uncomfortable, but Dr. Lee made me feel at ease right away. He explained the entire process clearly, including what to expect during and after the treatment. The procedure itself was more tolerable than I expected. A numbing cream was applied beforehand, which helped minimize discomfort. I could feel some pressure and mild prickling sensations, especially around more sensitive areas, but it was definitely manageable. What impressed me most was how precise and targeted the Agnes treatment felt. It seemed more advanced than standard microneedling, focusing on specific problem areas like fine lines and skin texture. After the session, my skin was quite red—similar to a mild sunburn—but this was expected and subsided over the next couple of days. In terms of results, I started noticing improvements within a week. My skin looked smoother, more even, and had a healthy glow. Over the following weeks, I saw continued improvement in texture and firmness. Pores appeared smaller, and some of my fine lines softened noticeably. The aftercare instructions were straightforward, and following them made a big difference in my recovery and results. I appreciated Dr. Lee's replies to my emails whenever I had questions about my face healing. Overall, I would definitely recommend Agnes microneedling to anyone looking to improve skin texture, tone, and overall appearance. It’s a great option if you want noticeable results without a long downtime. I’m already considering going back for additional sessions to maintain and enhance the results.

I had ICL surgery eight days ago. My vision had been -5.25 and I'd worn glasses or contacts for the last 36 years. I specifically chose Dr. Brenner after doing a lot of research and reading nearly 300 reviews on Google, Yelp, or elsewhere. The day of the surgery, I was taken promptly from the waiting room, but the technician seemed rushed. She was definitely juggling 3+ patients at the time. The surgery itself only took 25 minutes total, but was very uncomfortable (although not painful). My eyes were held open, which would've been manageable but then they shined a light in my eye that was three times brighter than the sun and asked me to look at it. It's momentary torture to say the least. I wanted to keep my eyes shut for most of the rest of the day. They watered uncontrollably for a few hours after. That night and certainly by the next day, my vision was very clear. Clearer than I expected. Details across the room were crisp. I had light sensitivity (and still do) and a mild headache for the first couple days. At my one-week follow-up appointment today, my left eye is 20/20, while my right eye seems to have backtracked to 20/50. Dr. Brenner says vision fluctuation is a normal part of the healing process, so hopefully it’ll return to perfect over the coming days/weeks. UPDATE 6/15/2026: About eight days after my surgery it was obvious something was wrong. Everything was blurry. Turns out both ICLs rotated out of position. On 6/10/2026 (three weeks from my original surgery) Dr. Brenner exchanged my ICLs for larger ICLs and oriented them vertically. So far, five days out, my vision is perfect in one eye and near-perfect in the other. Given the two surgeries, my eyes need time to heal, but the doctor expects my vision to improve even further. At the second surgery, every single person with whom I interacted at Boston Vision was extremely accommodating and kind. They took good care of me.

Expert care, great staff, and smooth recovery at Boston Vision, 5 stars. Outside of a little dry eye in the morning that goes away with drops, my vision has been great. My experience has been a good one with Boston Vision and Dr. Melki at Brookline. Very happy with the outcome.

Since my initial lasik procedure at Boston Vision in the beginning of June, I’ve done all of my follow ups at the Medford office. Have to say- the staff are awesome. Very personable, accommodating, and thorough. I was anxious postop because of my increase dry eye issues, and Dr. Demiri was very reassuring and helpful by giving me tips on how to continue to improve the dry eye issues as well as immediately booking another follow up appointment 4 days later to check for improvements. Appreciate all the help.

I recently got lasik with Boston vision and it’s been a whole new world so far. The procedure itself was extremely quick, definitely uncomfortable of course but worth the short term discomfort! I had extremely bad vision prior to this procedure my whole life so I’m still wrapping my head around seeing clearly when I first wake up, and not adjusting my glasses on my face throughout the day. So far I’ve only experienced a little dry eye issues, I rotate days and nights and I’ve noticed on nights after long shifts my eyes can definitely get more dry and I have to keep on top of the drops. At my recent follow up they applied collagen plugs and that’s helped a lot as well. Overall I’d 100% get it done again.

Great experience. I had LASIK with monovision yesterday. Vision was a little blurry day of, took a nap, went for a half-hour walk around town, watched some TV and went to bed early. No issues this morning- vision was great. 20/15 in one eye, 20/40 in the monovision eye. First time I can see both distance and my phone without needing glasses. Absolutely no pain during the surgery- it only lasted about 10 minutes. No major itching or burning after. I feel back to normal the next day. I’d do it again without hesitation.

Had lasik monovision on both eyes on 6-5-26, at one week mark my eyes are still adjusting and healing. Staff has been excellent, procedure was quick and the only discomfort was from the suction rings, they do put a lot of pressure on the eyes. I am 55, so I expect healing and vision stabilization to take time. As of now I can drive and see my phone and do computer work without glasses, which is something I could not do before, experience has been very positive so far!

I recently had ICL surgery on 6/3 with Dr. Melki. Before the procedure, I was a little nervous after reading the consent information and seeing some Reddit reviews of ICL surgeries performed elsewhere. However, after reading recent patient reviews through Boston Vision's HowDidItGo platform, I felt much more at ease. Many people described having minimal issues, even immediately after surgery, and said they wished they had done ICL years earlier. Now, just over a week post-op, I can honestly say I feel the same way. It has been life-changing to be able to see clearly without contacts or glasses. The procedure itself went very smoothly. One eye took a little longer than the other, and the recovery in that eye was slower, but both eyes were doing quite well by the second day after surgery. One piece of advice I would give is to consider taking the Xanax that's offered before the procedure. I wasn't nervous going in, but it is a little unnerving to be awake while someone is operating on your eyes. Looking back, I probably would have been a better patient for Dr. Melki if I had taken it—I likely would have moved my head less and followed instructions more easily during the procedure. Immediately after surgery, I felt pretty good overall, but my eye pressure was elevated. Dr. Sabbah came in and released some of the pressure, which helped immensely. My follow-up appointment with Dr. Sabbah the next day was excellent as well. He noticed that my right eye was recovering more slowly than my left and recommended increasing my eye drops from three times per day to five times per day in that eye. The improvement was almost immediate. My vision has been great. I opted for monovision and was initially concerned it might be difficult to adapt to, but the difference is so subtle that I don't even notice one eye is corrected differently from the other. The only side effect I've experienced is halos when looking directly at very bright lights or the sun. This was one of my biggest concerns before surgery because I didn't want to solve one vision problem only to create another. I had read reviews from people who said the halos didn't bother them, and I remember thinking, "How could they not?" Now that I've experienced them myself, I completely understand. They aren't particularly distracting, and sometimes they're actually pretty fascinating. The other day I noticed a rainbow halo and thought, "Wow, that's amazing." From what I've been told, halos typically improve over time, and I'm only a week into recovery. If you're considering ICL surgery and feeling nervous like I was, know that those feelings are completely normal. Based on my experience so far, I couldn't be happier with the outcome, and I only wish I had done it sooner.

Hesitating to take a star off, because my vision is great now and I recovered very well. However, the bedside manner of the staff as well as my experience as a patient that day was very poor. Day of surgery: I show up for my visit early, and I am not called in until over an hour past my appointment time. At no point did anyone tell me the OR was running behind. At one point I saw my doctor (Dr. Melki) outside assisting someone with getting a package-- so I don't know what was going on. When I started getting prepped for pre op, staff were literally running in and out of the room. I felt very rushed and not really cared for. Dr. Melki came into the room for about 30 seconds, was literally on the edge of his seat to rush out of the room, and didn't ask me if I had any questions or concerns. I mentioned 3 times how nervous I was, and a tech finally offered me Xanax after I bring up that I have GAD. In the operating room: Staff was friendly, blasting music, were very nice. The procedure for my right eye was really not that bad-- took about 10 minutes or less, no pain, mostly discomfort from staring into the light and feeling the tugging sensations. They then led me out of the room, checked my right eye, and then we went back in the room. Left eye-- different story. Within 10 seconds of starting, I literally heard the doctor say "oh f***" under his breath (which is HORRIFYING bedside manner??). The left eye takes MUCH longer, and is highly uncomfortable/painful throughout. I think my blood pressure or heart rate drops at some point because I hear beeping, staff starts patting my leg, and I hear someone say "she's very low." After the lens is placed, my vision in my left eye just disappears. Completely black. I try not to freak out, but when it doesn't return, I mention it to the staff. They are very concerned and immediately do something with a needle to my eye. Eventually my vision slowly returns. My left eye is very painful. Post OR: I'm extremely disoriented, either from the Xanax or the left eye procedure or both. I'm led to another room and left alone for a while. I can already see much clearer, but my eyes are very sensitive to light (especially my left eye). I'm very nervous about the comment my surgeon made, how my procedure went, the fact that it seemed like something went wrong, but no staff member stayed with me to talk me through it and reassure me. The doctor (a different one, who wasn't even there during my operation) came in the room for maybe 2 minutes, quickly checked my eyes, and then sent in a tech. I try to ask questions but as no one who followed up with me was in the room, I couldn't get answers. I went home confused and nervous, and fell asleep for the rest of the day and night. Follow up day: I wake up and can see perfectly. My eyes are somewhat uncomfortable (especially the left one) and sensitive to light, but not too bad. I go to my follow up appointment, and now being in a more sound state of mind, try to ask the doctor what happened. This is now the 3rd different doctor I've seen, and he also was not in the OR so couldn't tell me anything. He shared that sometimes eye pressures can increase to the point of losing vision, and that I should be fine. I'm now almost 2 weeks out. My vision is amazing, and I'm very happy with the results. I see a lot of halos at night, but slowly getting used to them. I don't quite trust myself to drive at night yet, but have no other issues. The results themselves are 5 stars-- but the procedure and the experience I had with staff was not. I didn't feel cared for as a patient at all, and felt more like I was treated as a product.

I am writing this review on my 4th day after LASIK surgery, and I honestly couldn't be happier with my experience at Boston Vision. After wearing contact lenses for 17 years, the idea of waking up and seeing clearly without them felt almost impossible. Yet here I am, just days after surgery, with excellent vision. At my follow-up appointment, Dr. Melki told me I was seeing at 20/15, which is truly unbelievable. From my very first consultation, Dr. Melki was an attentive listener who took the time to answer all of my questions and address any concerns. I never felt rushed and always felt that my individual needs were being considered. The day of surgery was much more comfortable than I expected. I especially appreciated the thoughtful touches in the operating room, including being able to choose my own music and even having a soft toy available for comfort. These small details made a big difference in helping me feel relaxed. The surgery itself was PAINLESS! Only felt pressure - as expected. The entire team at Boston Vision has been exceptional. Scheduling appointments was easy, communication was excellent, and the follow-up care has been thorough and reassuring. If you are considering LASIK, I highly recommend Boston Vision and Dr. Melki. The quality of care, attention to detail, and outstanding results have exceeded my expectations. This has truly been a life-changing experience.

I got Lasik in the beginning of June, and I had a great experience at Boston Vision. I was very nervous but they were efficient. Everyone I interacted with listened to my concerns and seemed like they cared - I asked to hold someones hand during the procedure, and they obliged. They also give you a stuffed animal to hold during the procedure, which was comforting as well. After the procedure my eyes were very sensitive to light, and I just went to bed to take my "nap." After waking up, my eyes were still a little sensitive to light, however it was amazing to be able to see! I am really excited for this life changing procedure. It is now Post op day 3 and my eyes feel a little dry but the drops help, and the sensitiveness to light has gotten better! Overall very happy I finally got the procedure!

My experience with Boston Vision and my ICL surgery has been truly life-changing. Before surgery, my vision was worse than 20/400, and I had depended on glasses and contact lenses for most of my life. Because of my severe prescription and eye characteristics, I was not a good candidate for LASIK, which made finding the right vision correction solution more difficult. My journey to Boston Vision was not a simple one. The first doctor I consulted did not perform ICL surgery, and the second doctor did not feel comfortable operating on my eyes because of the complexity of my prescription. After being referred by another eye doctor, I scheduled a consultation at Boston Vision. As the third vision correction practice I visited, I arrived with a lot of questions and concerns, but from the very beginning, I felt I was in the right place. The consultation process was extremely thorough. The team performed detailed testing and took the time to carefully explain my options. What stood out most was their confidence, expertise, and willingness to ensure I fully understood the procedure. Rather than feeling like just another patient, I felt that my case was being evaluated individually and that the doctors genuinely cared about achieving the best possible outcome. On the day of surgery, the staff was welcoming, professional, and reassuring. The procedure itself was much quicker and smoother than I expected. Every member of the team helped make the experience comfortable and stress-free. The results have exceeded my expectations. As of today, only six days after surgery, I am seeing at 20/15, which is something I never imagined possible given how poor my vision was before surgery. The impact on my daily life has been tremendous. Being able to wake up and see clearly without reaching for glasses or dealing with contact lenses has been incredibly freeing. My recovery has gone very smoothly overall. During the first few days, I experienced some pressure in my eyes, which was expected and gradually improved. By day four or five, that pressure sensation had completely gone away. At this point, the only minor side effects I notice are some dry eyes when I wake up and occasional glare from street lights while driving at night or from the sun at certain angles. These have been very manageable and are insignificant compared to the benefits I have gained from the procedure. Choosing ICL surgery was one of the best decisions I have ever made, and choosing Boston Vision made all the difference. Going from worse than 20/400 vision to 20/15 vision in less than a week has been remarkable, and I am extremely grateful to the entire team for their expertise and care. I highly recommend Boston Vision to anyone considering vision correction surgery, especially those with complex prescriptions who may not be candidates for LASIK.

I am about 5 weeks post op PRK surgery and my vision is incredible! Although there is a little discomfort between days 2-5, I was already seeing very well during the first week. There has been tremendous improvement and stabilization within the past 2 weeks. I would absolutely recommend this procedure to others. The whole team at Boston Vision has been great throughout the whole process. They were kind, thoughtful, and answered all my questions!

I’m a little over a week post ICL procedure and seeing great. At my last check in I was seeing 20/15 in both eyes with no irritation. While the procedure was daunting it only took about 5 minutes per eye and the staff and surgeon were great. I’d note two main things. First there is some eye discomfort the first day but that pretty much resolves with the PredMoxi eye drops. Secondly I do have halos when bright directed lights hit me from the side. Think like driving and car passes you, you’ll get a quick halo or at night when driving under a well lit road I have halos the entire drive. It’s not all that problematic and it doesn’t affect driving, but it’s there and I could see others being more bothered by that than myself. I haven’t done any super long drives at night since the surgery but I expect if I do that could get a bit annoying. Other than that I’ve been super impressed with how quickly I’ve recovered and returned to my normal life. As a contact wearer for the last 15 years of my life it’s definitely been awesome to go to bed and wake up in the morning without out the really bad vision and routine of taking my contacts out at the end of the night. All in all I’ve been very satisfied with my choice. Please feel free to reach out, I’m more than happy to speak about my life before and after ICL surgery and help alleviate or talk through any concerns you may be having.

Hi! I am now 5 days out from my ICL surgery with Dr. Jason Brenner. Prior to my surgery, my prescription in my glasses was -14.00 and -15.25 and could not see anything without my glasses on. I was very nervous that I was not going to have crisp, clear vision due to how bad my prescription was. There was no need to worry...I can see so crisp and clear just 5 days out. From my consultation, to the booking process to the actual day of surgery and follow up appt, Boston Vision has been phenomenal. They answered all my questions and calmed my nerves. The day of the surgery, they put me at ease in the pre-op area and in the OR. In the OR, I couldn't see anything since I didn't have my glasses on but they told me everything they were going to do before they did it. Each eye took about 5 minutes to do. Right after the surgery, with dilated eyes and all I was able to see 20/30. The next day at my follow up appt, I was 20/25 and they expect by my next appt in 2 days for my vision to be even better. The only thing that I have noticed is I still have some halos in certain lighting but overall they do not bother me and have gotten better as the days have progressed.

Procedure was very quick and simple. Vision was perfect within a week of the procedure. No more dry eyes 3 weeks after the procedure.

I had a great experience with the surgery. I now have 20/20 vision and couldn't be happier. Dr. Melki and his staff made sure to check in and ensure both eyes looked right after surgery. The staff was kind and helpful.
